Ray Bradbury knew how to do Science Fiction right but he fancied himself a well-rounded writer, not one to be labeled with a single moniker. Bradbury died yesterday but in his time he was a prolific writer with over 50 books to his credit. His Fahrenheit 451 was my first introduction to dystopian novels and it is now widely read at the secondary level.
“What I have always been is a hybrid author,” Bradbury explained in 2009. “I am completely in love with movies, and I am completely in love with theater, and I am completely in love with libraries.”
Bradbury loved reading, writing and libraries. There will be a lot to miss about him.
